Playing the game at the NHF
IT conference July 21 2003
The Making the Net Work planning game was
played at the annual
IT conference of the National Housing Federation.
We used an update of the version developed as part of
our work with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, published
September 2002.

The
planning game
Drew Mackie and David Wilcox developed the
workshop game and planning tools to help residents and
housing association staff to think through possible
projects - even though they might be unfamiliar with
new technologies.
 |
During
the JRF-supported research participants were able
to develop a scenario reflecting the key issues
for individuals and groups in the neighbourhood;
use a set of project cards to assess what technology
might be appropriate to meet those needs; prioritise
activities; and reflect on how they could take
things forward.
Participants
could then think through in more detail what would
be needed to develop specific projects and an
overall programme - and the issues arising. Conference
participants were able to go through a version
of the game using a fictitious scenario. |
