Here are some
examples of questions you might ask your community to
help understand their needs, and to prove that the services
that your project are proposing to funders are what
people want. You will need to adapt the questions suggested
here so that they reflect your plans and ideas. Keep
it short and simple and easy to complete: give examples
for respondents to tick wherever possible.
Test your questionnaire
on a few people first to make sure that the questions
are easy to understand and not misleading.
Start by outlining
the idea then ask:
- How do you
feel about this idea?
- Would you
be willing to help? How?
- What would
you use a community resource centre for? (give ideas
for respondents to tick)
- What services
do you need? (give examples for respondents to tick)
- Can you afford
to pay anything for these services - if so, how much?
- Is there anywhere
you use already for these services?
- Where is that?
- Is it convenient/affordable?
- Do you have
a computer already?
- What do you
use it for?
- Do you plan
to get one?
- If no, why.....If
yes, why?
- Do you have
Internet access? (at home.. school.. work)
- Do you plan
to get it?
- If no, why.....If
yes, why?
- Would you
like to learn more about computers/the Internet
- Where do you
go for training at present?
- Do you have
childcare problems (transport problems)?
